Sync Issues
iPhone and Apple Watch not syncing
- Ensure both devices have Bluetooth enabled
- Open 36 Exposures on iPhone to trigger sync
- Check Watch app → 36 Exposures is installed
- Restart both devices if needed
- Reinstall Watch app from iPhone Watch app
iCloud sync between devices
- Verify iCloud is enabled in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud
- Check 36 Exposures has iCloud permission
- Ensure sufficient iCloud storage available
- Force quit and reopen app on both devices
- Sign out and back into iCloud if persistent
Offline & Connectivity
Light meter not working
- • Check camera permissions in Settings → Privacy → Camera
- • Ensure lens cap is removed
- • Clean camera lens if readings seem off
- • Calibrate against known meter if available
GPS location not updating
- • Enable Location Services: Settings → Privacy → Location
- • Set 36 Exposures to "While Using App"
- • Wait for GPS lock indicator (may take 30 seconds)
- • Move to area with clear sky view
Data & Storage
Missing rolls or shots
First, don't panic! Data is usually recoverable.
- Pull down to refresh on main screen
- Check "All Rolls" not just "Active"
- Look in Archive if you may have archived them
- Check iCloud.com for backup data
- Contact support with approximate dates
Storage full warnings
- • Export completed rolls to free space
- • Delete cached preview images: Settings → Storage
- • Archive old rolls to iCloud
- • Check iPhone storage: Settings → General → Storage
Export Problems
EXIF data not showing in exported images
- Verify export format supports EXIF (JPEG/TIFF)
- Check "Include Metadata" is enabled
- Use EXIF viewer to confirm (some apps hide it)
- Re-export with different format if needed
- Try XMP sidecar for RAW files
Scans not matching with logged shots
- • Ensure frame numbers align (check for blank frames)
- • Verify correct roll is selected
- • Manual match if auto-match fails
- • Check scan order matches shooting order
App Crashes & Performance
App crashes on launch
- Force quit: Swipe up and remove from app switcher
- Restart iPhone (hold power + volume)
- Check for app updates in App Store
- Free up storage space if low
- Reinstall app (data is preserved in iCloud)
Slow performance
- • Close other apps to free memory
- • Archive old completed rolls
- • Clear cache: Settings → Storage → Clear Cache
- • Disable animations if on older device
- • Update to latest iOS version
